A funeral marks the end of a human life here on earth.  It is the opportunity for family and friends to express their grief, to give thanks and celebrate the life of the loved one and to commend them into God’s keeping.

A Church of England funeral can be in the parish church or the chapel at the local crematorium.  It can be very short and quiet with only a few family members present or an occasion of great solemnity with music and hymns and a packed church.  Whatever the pattern of the service, the words and actions will speak of God’s love and promises for each one of us.
